Hi! Welcome to Barney Design. Since it’s my first post I’ll do the obligatory intro so you know more about me :). I am a freelance graphic designer specializing in book cover design, book interior art and logo branding. I love all things typography and color. I'm a minimalist at heart and find beauty in simple and elegant design. I was born and raised in San Diego, California and have lived here most of my life (except for a stint in Utah and Hong Kong). I love going to the beach way more in the winter and I am a sucker for chocolate.

My full time gig is mom (like most of you I’m sure) and freelance in my “spare time” (I mean does this even exist for moms?!) My husband and I have three lively boys and two adorably naughty french bulldogs. Our house is loud and wild and full of laughs and tears at times, but we enjoy food adventures, walking the horse trails in our neighborhood and snuggling in for movie night with delicious dessert boards (we go a little overboard I must confess).

We are a pretty private family so you won’t see much of the husband and kids here but I hope you will stop in every once in a while for some graphic design fun and possibly an occasional hilarious anecdote.
